SECONDS COLLECT EIGHT POINTS AS GAME ABANDONED AT BARNT GREEN

SECONDS COLLECT EIGHT POINTS AS GAME ABANDONED AT BARNT GREEN

Worcestershire Seconds suffered more weather frustration as their Championship game with local rivals Warwickshire at Barnt Green was abandoned as a draw.

The second day had been washed out and today (Thursday) suffered the same fate.

More overnight rain left the umpires with no choice but to call the game off at 9am.

Worcestershire collected eight points from the game – three bonus points for batting in totalling 277 on the opening day plus five for a share of the spoils.

The elements had also washed out a sizeable chunk of the final day of last week’s Championship match with Lancashire at Northern CC.

The Seconds will hope for better luck with the weather next week during four days action against Yorkshire at Kidderminster.

The sides will meet in a Trophy match on Monday and then a Championship fixture from Tuesday to Thursday.
