SECONDS GO DOWN TO YORKSHIRE IN CHAMPIONSHIP AT CHESTER ROAD

Worcestershire Seconds went down by 258 runs to their Yorkshire counterparts in a Second Eleven Championship match at Kidderminster’s Chester Road ground.

The home side were set a 385 target on the final day and were dismissed for 126 by a strong attack.

Worcestershire were without several players through injury, exam commitments (Pat Brown) and first team call-ups (Josh Dell and George Rhodes).

Yorkshire set up the declaration by scoring 96 off 12.5 overs during the morning session before pulling out on 295-2.

Former Worcestershire Academy player Will Fraine ended unbeaten on 157 and he put on 164 for the first wicket with Finlay Bean (63).

Adam Finch finished with 1-48 from 15 overs and triallist Chris Sanders 1-57 from 15 overs.

Worcestershire lost half of their side for 30 in reply.

There were then useful contributions from captain Alex Milton (32), Brinder Phagura (24), Sanders (17) and Mahaaz Ahmed (15) before they were bowled out in 51.4 overs.

Ed Barnes (3-22), Jared Warner (2-21) and Jordan Thompson (2-9) were the main wicket-takers for Yorkshire with Josh Shaw (1-22), Josh Poysden (1-17) and Jack Shutt (1-12) also chipping in.
