Shantry Guest Speaker Of Cricket Society

Shantry Guest Speaker Of Cricket Society

Worcestershire CCC paceman Jack Shantry will be the guest speaker of the Worcestershire Cricket Society in the Graeme Hick Pavilion on Tuesday, starting at 7.30pm.

Jack has become one of Worcestershire's most consistent and reliable performers with the ball in recent seasons.

He has taken 50 plus wickets in the County Championship during the last two campaigns and formed part of a potent attack with Joe Leach and Charlie Morris.

Jack's achievements in 2015 were recognised when he received the prestigious Dick Lygon Award at the end of season Gala dinner-awards night.

He has also made several notable contributions with the bat and was a former opening batsman before his talents with the ball fully flourished.

Who will ever forget his Ian Bothamesque performance against Surrey at New Road in September 2014 to seal promotion back to Division One of the Championship.

Jack became the first player in first class cricket batting at nine or lower to score a century and take 10 wickets in a match.

Non Cricket Society members are welcome to attend the evening for a charge of £3.

Those attending are asked to park in the Worcs CCC car park in front of the Premier Inn because of the current flooding at New Road.
