Jack Shantry became only the third player to score a century and take 10 wickets in a match for Worcestershire with his heroics against Surrey last week.
Shantry almost single-handedly rescued a lost looking cause with a return of 101 not out and 10-131 to secure the win which earned the county a place in Division One of the LV= County Championship next season.
The only other players to achieve the same feat for Worcestershire were Edward George Arnold and Imran Khan.
In 1909 Exmouth-born Arnold scored 200 not out and bowling figures of 10-114 against local rivals Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
He played for Worcestershire from 1899 to 1913, passed 1,000 runs in a season on seven occasions, took 100 wickets in a season twice and did the 'double' in 1903 when he scored 1,040 runs and picked up 124 wickets.
Imran, who completed his education at Worcester Royal Grammar School, hit 111 not out and returned match figures of 13-99 in 1976 against Lancashire at New Road.
He made his debut for the county in 1971 and left after the 1976 season to join Sussex and subsequently became one of the world's finest all-rounders with Pakistan.
Shantry also came close to registering the highest ever score by a Worcestershire player batting at number nine.
He was just nine runs short of 'Laddy' Outschoorn's 110 not out against Essex at the Vista Road Recreation Ground, Clacton-on-Sea in 1948.
Colombo born Outschoorn played for Worcestershire between 1946 and 1959 and scored 1,000 runs in a season on nine occasions.
