Skipper Joe Leach insists Worcestershire's recent minor blip in form is no cause for panic and he said: "we know we are a good side."
The County take on Kent at New Road in a Specsavers County Championship Division Two promotion battle at New Road starting tomorrow (Monday).
Worcestershire will be determined to bounce back from two successive Championship defeats – after winning the opening four matches – and a Royal London One-Day Cup semi-final setback against Surrey after topping the North Group in impressive style.
Leach said: "I don't see it as being a slide or anything like that. We are more than capable of beating Kent on Monday and that's the attitude we need to have.
"Come Monday, someone, or two or two or three people, need to put their hands up and put in a contribution that is going to win us a game – and that's going to be the message.
"It's a massive game, they have started well in the Championship and they are promotion rivals so to put one over them would be a big feather in our cap as far as the campaign goes.
"With playing them only once this season, it does become a six pointer."
Leach added: "We have to draw a line under the semi-final. It's the nature of county cricket, we can't dwell on it. It's pointless dwelling on it and worrying about it too much.
"We have to see it as part of our development to get to these big games and hopefully it's not just going to be about getting to these big games, it's maybe winning these big games.
"It's an experience that is bitter at the moment but we have to move on because we have another massive game on Monday.
"I certainly don't think there is any need to panic. Look where we are, June 18, we've had a very good start in the Championship, we've won a 50 over group with some brilliant teams in it and we've lost a semi-final.
"That's the reality of it. I think it is very easy after a couple of weeks to hit the panic button. We are a good side, we know we are a good side, we've got good players and we've shown that this season.
"Of course, the fans are going to be disappointed. We are disappointed. We didn't want this (the semi-final result) to happen and we didn't want the last couple of weeks to happen.
"But the Championship is a marathon, we've won our fair share of games this year, we've put ourselves in a very healthy position and now it's about what we do from June 17 to September 28.
"Watch this space because we are a good side and we will be challenging in the Championship and we will have a good go at the T20 as well."
