Worcestershire Cricket Society’s annual April trip will in 2018 include visits to Wimbledon, Lord’s and Wembley Stadium.
Society committee member Mike Hitchings was responsible for arranging the 2016 and 2017 excursions with overnight stops to Manchester (Old Trafford) and Portsmouth (the Ageas Bowl and Hove).
Now he has arranged a trip which takes in the homes of tennis, cricket and football in this country during a one night stay in the capital at the The Danubius Hotel, Regents Park on Sunday April 8 and Monday April 9.
The approximate cost per person will be about £200 which will include:
– cost of the 53 seater coach and a tip for the driver
– three course evening meal and a full English breakfast at the hotel
– entry for the three tours of Lord’s, Wimbledon and Wembley Stadium
Given the prices in London, the all-in package represents excellent value for money and has already attracted the interest of 20 plus members.
This is likely to be an extremely popular trip so anyone wanting to book a place must pay a £25 deposit.

Below is the proposed itinerary for the trip.
SUNDAY APRIL 8
9.15am Meet at New Road with the coach leaving at 9.30
10.00am Pick up in Cheltenham
11.30am Comfort break at a service station for 45 minutes
1.30pm Arrive at Wimbledon for our tour at 2.00
4.30pm Leave Wimbledon and travel to our hotel
6.30 – 7.00pm Three course evening meal
MONDAY APRIL 9
8.30am Meet in the hotel lounge to walk over to Lords
9.00pm Tour of Lords
10.30pm Coach will pick up at hotel and will travel to the Wembley area where a meal stop will be arranged (not
included in price).
2.00pm Stadium tour of Wembley
4.00pm Leave Wembley and travel back to Cheltenham making a comfort stop on the way.
7.00pm Drop off in Cheltenham
7.30 pm Arrive back at New Road.
