Somerset V Worcestershire Day Two Reaction

Somerset V Worcestershire Day Two Reaction

Worcestershire paceman Charlie Morris said: “The wicket didn’t do an awful lot for us throughout the day.

"There was a little bit with the new ball upfront but in general there wasn’t too much in the air or off the pitch.

“Having said that we stuck to our guns and tried to bowl tight as much as we could do today and credit to Somerset they batted really well.

"James Hildreth yesterday was supported by all of the other Somerset players.

“Ideally we would have liked to have been in a better position at the end of day one having put them into bat.

"But that’s the way the game has gone on and we are going to have to graft it out now.”

Somerset centurion Pete Trego said: "It was a fantastic partnership with James (Hildreth) and I love batting with the guy and when he is ticking there is no better place to be than at the other end.

“Over the years we have put on several partnerships and today’s was probably one of the better ones, especially going into this game in the situation we are in, to bat Worcestershire out of the game was what we wanted to do.

“Then for the bowlers to strike in the way they did and take four wickets puts us into a fantastic position."
