Steve Takes Time Out From Preparations To Be Guest Speaker

New signing Steve Magoffin will be the guest speaker of the Worcestershire Cricket Society at their monthly meeting in the Graeme Hick Pavilion tomorrow (7.30pm start).

The paceman will take time out from preparing for the new season at New Road to recall his long and distinguished career.

Magoffin is back with the County for a second spell from Sussex after initially playing for Worcestershire in 2008.

The Australian bowler – who now has a UK passport – has so far taken 581 first class wickets at an average of 23.23 since making his debut for Western Australia in 2004.

Steve’s first spell at New Road has special memories as during it he met his wife Becky.

Non Society members are also welcome to attend tomorrow evening for an admission charge of £3.

The remaining three Cricket Society monthly meetings of 2017-2018 will be held in the Hick Pavilion with former Sussex captain John Barclay (February 13) and ex Yorkshire and England spinner Geoff Cope (March 13) the guest speakers.

The November and December meetings were switched to The View.
