Supporters’ Association Prints Available At Luncheon

Supporters’ Association Prints Available At Luncheon

Prints of the painting commissioned by the Worcestershire Supporters' Association to mark Worcestershire County Cricket Club's 150th Anniversary and the Supporters' Association's Blue Sapphire Anniversary will be on sale from tomorrow.

Worcester artist David Birtwistle, who was commissioned to produce the painting, will be attending the Association's luncheon in the Chestnut Marquee where the prints – a limited edition of 150 all signed and numbered – can be purchased.

Birtwhistle’s painting shows, in a succession of larger vignettes, WCCC’s first Isaac Pavilion at Boughton (1878-1896), the fondly remembered but flood damaged Foley Pavilion at New Road (1898-2008) and the magnificent view south-west across the Graeme Hick Pavilion (2009-) to the Malvern Hills.

Interspersed are other themes, such as the first scoreboard at Boughton, the often flooded original scoreboard at New Road, the classic WCCSA built 1954 scoreboard with its Worcester Cathedral backdrop, the more modern scoreboard, and today’s electronic video screen.

The price for an unframed print will be £50 for members of the Association and £60 for non Association members.

If a specifically numbered print is required, there will be an additional charge.

The print will also be available to purchase during the remainder of the home game with Derbyshire from the Supporters' Association shop at the back of the Basil D'Oliveira Stand.

Supporters' Association 2017 calendars can also be purchased at the luncheon or from the shop for £7.50p.
