Talacz Shines For Development X1 In Drawn Game With Local Rivals

Luke Talacz hit a fine 88 and enabled Worcestershire CCC Development X1 to share the spoils in their two-day clash with their Warwickshire counterparts at Halesowen CC.

Talacz, who plays alongside Daryl Mitchell for Brockhampton in the Birmingham League, came to the wicket with Worcestershire 34-3 after being set a 284 target.

But he and opener Ben Bromage made the game safe during a stand of 119 for the fourth wicket.

Bromage was eventually dismissed for a solid 46 from 130 balls with eight boundaries.

But Tulacz was within 12 runs of his century when he fell after striking 17 fours in his 112 ball knock.

Worcestershire had earlier in the day tried to open up the game by declaring 100 runs behind on first innings at 168-5 with Harry Baddams (66), Bilal Hussain (36) and Fergus Roll (30) their main contributors.

Warwickshire pulled out at 183-4 declared in their second innings.

For Worcestershire, there was one wicket apiece for Talha Ikhlaq (1-33), Charlie Greening (1-29) and Archie Oxley (1-40) – plus a run-out.
