Third New Road Venue To Cope With Demand For Worcs Ccc Xmas Party Nights

Third New Road Venue To Cope With Demand For Worcs Ccc Xmas Party Nights

Worcestershirer CCC are expanding the range of venues available at their New Road ground to stage their Christmas Party Nights to cope with an ever growing demand.

Nearly all of the popular Friday and Saturday evenings in the Graeme Hick Pavilion and The View during December have been snapped up by party-goers for the office party or private functions before the end of August.

But the County are looking to also open the 1865 Lounge for those festive nights to remember to ensure that everyone can be catered for – and no-one is turned away.

The Christmas Parties enjoyed record numbers last year – up by 50 per cent – and already are on course to emulate those figures in 2015.

Worcestershire Commercial Director Jon Graham said: "Friday and Saturdays during December in the Graeme Hick Pavilion, apart from the odd place here and there, are gone.

"In The View we've got maybe three nights Friday-Saturday available in December and that's all.

"We are looking to open the 1865 Lounge for party nights. We don't want to be turning people away so we will open up another venue to cater for people on Friday-Saturday.

"The 1865 Lounge would provide exactly the same quality and night to remember as everywhere else, be all decked out for Christmas, disco, excellent menus, same everything.

"To be fair, the fact we are talking about Christmas in Augut shows how far we've come

"Normally the Christmas party sector, and when people start to book, it tends to be in September-October.

"People have had their holidays, the kids are back at school, they get back to work and think 'I don't want to be back at work, when is the Christmas party.'"

It's not just the Friday and Saturday evenings that Worcestershire CCC can cater for.

Graham added: "We will open up additional nights in the Graeme Hick Pavilion mid-week if that is what people want so, if there is a big business that has got 150 people and just want their own Christmas party, then we can cater for that.

"What we are looking at now is other avenues so as we don't say 'no' to people and still give them a fantastic time.

"As far as the numbers are concerned, it was a record number of people last year and we will do that again.

"We are looking forward to it and it is testament to what we've done in the past that we are pretty much sold out in August because all of that is repeat business and word of mouth."

A night to remember costs just £35 per person and includes a three course meal and coffee, crackers and novelties and a disco until midnight.
