Tom Kohler-Cadmore achieved Worcestershire's individual score in T20 cricket but insisted: "The main thing is we got two points tonight."
Kohler-Cadmore smashed an incredible 127 from 54 balls with eight sixes and 14 fours as the Rapids achieved a 38 run success over Durham Jets in the NatWest T20 Blast clash at New Road.
It surpassed the 116 not out by Graeme Hick against Northamptonshire at Luton in 2004 and Worcestershire's 225-6 was their highest T20 score at New Road.
Kohler-Cadmore said: "I've started well haven't I but just the main thing for us now is our second game and hopefully to kick on and 'do' The (Birmingham) Bears at their place.
"It was nice to strike the ball out of the middle but, as everyone knows, T20 is hit and miss and tonight luckily it was my night.
"Hopefully I can have a couple more nights like that which win some games. The main thing is the two points we got tonight which is awesome for the side."
When told it was the highest T20 score by a Worcestershire player, Kohler-Cadmore sai d: "That is quite nice to have. I should have probably got more.
"I got out with six overs left and it should have been more than it was. It is just one of those things.
"If you are trying to hit most balls for six, you are going to get out at some point aren't you?"
Kohler-Cadmore admitted he is at his best when playing orthodox cricket shots and his innings was destructive but clean hitting.
He said: "I think when I try and get 'funky' that is when I get myself in trouble and get myself out.
"I tried to keep calm and hit my areas that I know I hit quite well and luckily it paid off."
Kohler-Cadmore admitted his hundred rounded off an excellent couple of days with club physio Ben Davies becoming a father and his great friend Tom Fell getting the all clear in his battle against cancer.
He said: "It has been a good couple of days really. Our physio had a baby yesterday and Felly sent through his news about being all-round which made everyone ecstatic with the news.
"Now he will be back full-time, it will be great to have him. The only problem is I've got to share a house with him!
"He is great to be around and it's awesome news for him and for the club to have him back.
"He was our leading run-scorer last year and for him to come back into the four-day side is going to do wonders for us."
