Worcestershire 2018 overseas player Travis Head warmed up for the forthcoming ODI Series against England by hitting a century in Australia’s 101 win over Middlesex at Lord’s.
Head went in first and hit 106 of Australia’s 283-6 after the tourists had elected to bat.
The 24-year-old added 114 in 26 overs for the second wicket with Shaun Marsh (49) and 89 in 15 overs for the fourth wicket with Aaron Finch (54).
Head struck nine boundaries in his 141 ball knock before he was fourth out at 239 – caught behind off leg spinner and compatriot Nathan Sowter.
Middlesex were bowled out for 182 in reply with opener Max Holden top-scoring with a run a ball 71 containing eight boundaries.
He added 61 for the fourth wicket with Hilton Cartwright but the 2016 County Champions were bowled out with nine overs remaining.
Head played in Worcestershire’s opening five Specsavers County Championship matches and first four Royal London One-Day Cup games.
He is due back at Blackfinch New Road in early July after the completion of the ODI Series and a mini T20 Series in Zimbabwe before linking up again in August with Australia ‘A’ for a tour of India.
