Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Ed Barnard and Alex Hepburn will tomorrow become the first Worcestershire CCC players to taste action this winter in Australia.
Kohler-Cadmore will be playing for Penrith Panthers for a second successive winter after topping the averages with 533 runs at an average of 59.22 during 2015-2016.
He has been named in the Penrith side who entertain North Sydney in their opening two day fixture of the New South Wales Premier Cricket first grade competition with the match completed next weekend.
Barnard and Hepburn will be both competing in the same competition – the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade – for Scarborough and Willetton respectively.
Barnard previously played in Australia two winters ago for Queanbeyan District and is included in the team by his new club for when they kick off the season at home to Wanneroo Districts in a 50 over clash.
Hepburn, who recently signed a new one year contract at New Road, has played for Willetton for several seasons and tomorrow they are away to Rockingham-Mandurah in a one-day encounter.
Included in the Willetton side is former Australian spinner Bradley Hogg who is still showing he is a force at the age of 45.
Several more Worcestershire players will be travelling Down Under in the next few days to play grade cricket through to the end of February.
George Rhodes (Tee Tree Gully CC in Perth), new Worcestershire skipper Joe Leach (North Canberra Gungahlin CC in Canberra), Charlie Morris (Tuggeranong CC in Canberra) and Ben Twohig (East Torrens CC in Adelaide) have been confirmed.
Keeper Ben Cox and Ross Whiteley could also be returning for further spells in Australia although their possible clubs have not been confirmed by Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes.
Cox previously played – alongside Jack Shantry – for Greenvale Kangaroos in 2014-2015 and Whiteley has been a regular member of the Prospect CC side for several years.
