Two Wickets For Finch As Midlands Triumph In Super Fours

Adam Finch played his part with the ball as Midlands Under-17s defeated South West Under-17s by 89 runs in the opening match of the Super Fours at Loughborough.

The Worcestershire paceman picked up two wickets after taking the new ball to put the South West instantly on the back foot as they chased a 215 target.

The England Under-19 bowler, who played in two of the five ODIs versus India Under-19s earlier this month, dismissed Milo Ayres (7) and skipper Tom Bevan (4).

His spell helped to reduce the South West to 37-5 in a competition which is the Under-17s equivalent of the Bunburys.

The 17-year-old finished with figures of 6-1-20-2 as the South West were bowled out for 125.

James Taylor (3-24), Hamidullah Qadri (2-30) and Jacques Banton (3-21) were the other wicket-takers.

The Midlands had elected to bat after winning the toss and were bowled out for 214 in 48.1 overs.

Worestershire all-rounder Jack Haynes went in as opener and scored six with Zain Ul-Hassan making eight – batting at number seven – and Finch two.
