The Tip Foster Trophy will take pride of place in the Hick Pavilion after being officially unveiled this morning.
Three generations of the Foster family – including the oldest surviving Foster, June, who is aged 96 – attended the ceremony.
Her son Jonathan Fisher organised the ceremony in tandem with Worcestershire Heritage co-ordinator Tim Jones.
The trophy will be housed in a brand new cabinet alongside the collection of other County memorabilia.
Worcestershire CEO Matt Rawnsley and County members attended the ceremony.
Tip Foster remains the only player to still captain England at both cricket and football and was one of seven Fosters to be educated at Malvern College and also play for Worcestershire.
Jonathan Fisher said: “It is quite appropriate that Tim and myself chose this match for the ceremony because Surrey and Worcestershire, I would like to suggest, have the best Academys in the country.
“According to Tim, 15 of the Worcestershire squad are Academy players and 11 of the Surrey squad are Academy players.
“I would like to thank Worcestershire and Matt (Rawnsley) – County CEO – for putting up this great display cabinet.
“Special thanks to Tim Jones in making sure everything got finalised.”
The trophy was commissioned by the Foster family to mark the 100th anniversary of Tip Foster’s death three years ago.
It has also been used in recent years for Worcestershire’s Damian D’Oliveira Academy Player Of The Year award.
