WAYNE BEST PLACED WORCESTERSHIRE PLAYER IN MVP RANKINGS

Wayne Parnell is Worcestershire’s highest ranked played in the Professional Cricketers’ Association Most Valuable Player rankings for county cricket so far this summer.

The all-rounder is lying in 20th spot as a result of his performances in the Royal London One-Day Cup and Specsavers County Championship.

Parnell has amassed 175.82 points at an average of 14.65 including 37.50 for batting and 130.31 for bowling.

The 29-year-old was ranked fifth in the One-Day Cup ratings after his haul of 22 wickets.

The next best placed Worcestershire player incorporating all formats is paceman Charlie Morris who is 28th with 154.35 points at 11.87.

Morris is also the leading Worcestershire performer in the MVP lists for the Championship with 88.90 points at 17.78.

The PCA launched its Most Valuable Player Rankings – for the 2007 domestic season.

It is the most reliable benchmark in the game, a statistic that for the first time combines all aspects of a player’s game.
