Riki Wessels is linking up with Worcestershire in Abu Dhabi after playing for Lahore Qalandars in the finale of the Pakistan Super League.

The County’s new signing featured in the final two group matches in the space of three days against Islamabad United and Multan Sultans with both games taking place in Karachi.

Wessels made 20 off 11 balls batting at number three against reigning champions Islamabad whose squad includes another Worcestershire player in Wayne Parnell.

He struck one six and two fours as Lahore went down by 49 runs after being set a massive 239 target.

The 33-year-old was promoted to open versus the Sultans in the final group game but he was dismissed for four off 10 deliveries.

Lahore were beaten by seven wickets and finished bottom of the table.

Wessels had also featured in the competition 12 months ago, playing in four games for Peshawar Zalmi.

He has signed a three year contract with Worcestershire from 2019 to 2021.
