Westbury And Rhodes Making Favourable Impression Down Under

Worcestershire Academy player Ollie Westbury is topping the batting averages for Hay Park in the Bunbury and District Cricket Association first grade.

Opening batsman Westbury has scored 229 runs in four knocks at an average of 76.33 and is also his club's highest run-scorer.

His efforts have helped Hay Park climb to second spot in the seven team table with three wins and 12 points from four games – two points behind leaders Collie.

Westbury will be back in action tomorrow (Saturday) when Hay Park entertain Marist in the 50 over competition.

George Rhodes is also making a good impact with the ball for North Canberra Gungahlin in the ACT Premier Cricket first grade.

The Worcestershire all-rounder is second in the Northies bowling averages with seven wickets from four games at an average of 19.71 runs apiece.

His overall figures are 30-4-138-7 and Rhodes has a strike rate of 25.71 and an economy rate of 4.60.

North Canberra are away tomorrow to Queanbeyan District – the side Ed Barnard played for last winter -at the Freebody Oval.

Last weekend's defeat against Tuggeranong Valley means North Canberra have dropped to sixth spot in the eight-team table.

New Road batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore will be hoping for better luck weather-wise with Penrith Panthers tomorrow.

The first day of the two-day fixture with visiting Bankstown in the Sydney Grade Cricket first grade was washed out last weekend.

Alex Hepburn's side, Willetton Dragons, will start a two day match away to Scarborough in the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade.

The Dragons are in sixth spot in the 16 team table after last weekend's win over Rockingham-Mandurah. The top six sides qualify for the play-offs.

Worcestershire all-rounder Hepburn will be striving to build on his 85 for the Colts side last Sunday after he had not batted against Rockingham.
