Westbury’s Side Stay In Contention For Bunbury Title

Worcestershire CCC Academy opener Ollie Westbury's side Hay Park maintained their title hopes with a 75 run win away to Marist in the Bunbury and District Cricket Association first grade.

Hay Park are top of the table on 34 points although nearest challengers Colts are one point behind with a game in hand.

Westbury, who has enjoyed a successful winter, only managed six on this occasion and Hay Park were in trouble at 9-3 and then 49-4 after electing to bat.

But then Jono Whitney led a recovery to 225-8 from 50 overs with 99 off 117 balls with three sixes and 10 fours.

He shared in stands of 98 with G. Yates (48) and 56 with C. Waddingham (32 not out).

Westbury was not required to bowl on this occasion as bottom placed Marist were bowled out for 150 in 42.1 overs.
