Ross Whiteley hit a quickfire 29 not out to boost the England Lions total to 164-5 as they recorded a comfortable 41 run victory over Pakistan 'A' in the second T20 match of the series in Dubai today.
The Worcestershire all-rounder came to the wicket at 100-3 in the 14th over and helped England to set a challenging target after losing the opening game of the five match series.
Middlesex's Dawid Malan was the main contributor with 80 from 56 balls with two sixes and nine fours.
Whiteley, who had scored 22 off 15 deliveries with two sixes in the first game, found Pakistan bowler Iftikhar Ahmed to his liking.
He hit Ahmed for four straight back over his head and then lofted the next delivery for a massive six over mid wicket.
Whiteley collected another six in the final over from Rumman Raes and in total faced 20 balls.
Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals in reply with Jamie Overton (3-26), Jake Ball (2-19) Liam Dawson (2-25) producing the goods.
They were eventually bowled out for 123 in 19.3 overs.
Whiteley held onto one good catch to dismiss number seven Aamer Yamin for six off a mistimed hit against Overton.
Joe Clarke had also played in the first match of the series but was ruled out of today through injury.
The Worcestershire wicket-keeper-batsman suffered a thigh injury during practice yesterday.
Clarke, the youngest member of the squad at 19, had made his Lions debut in the seven wicket defeat against Pakistan 'A'at the same venue on Monday, scoring 16 off 13 balls.
Surrey keeper Ben Foakes replaced Clarke and the other change from the opening game saw Somerset paceman Overton coming into the side for Lancashire spinner Stephen Parry.
