Whiteley Surges Into The Top Three Of T20 Blast Six Hitters

Ross Whiteley's amazing hitting against Yorkshire Vikings has propelled into the top three of the NatWest T20 Blast six hitters for 2015.

The Worcestershire Rapids all-rounder has moved onto the 25 sixes mark in the competition after his 11 against the Vikings at Headingley in making 91 not out from 35 balls.

Only Somerset's Chris Gayle (29) and Sussex's Luke Wright (26) have cleared the boundary on more occasions.

Gayle is the only player to have scored more sixes in an innings than Whiteley with 15 and the Rapids star is in joint second spot on 11 with Brendon McCullum of Birmingham Bears.

Rapids skipper Daryl Mitchell is the eighth highest scorer to date in the 2015 tournament with 379 runs from 12 knocks at an average of 34.45 and a strike rate of 118.6.

Not far behind in 11th spot is Tom Kohler-Cadmore with 349 runs at an average of 34.90 and a strike rate of 140.16.

On the bowling front Rapids spinners Saeed Ajmal and Brett D'Oliveira have made a big impact.

Ajmal is the fourth highest wicket-taker with 19 in 10 matches at 15.21 runs apiece.

D'Oliveira has the eighth best economy rate in 2015 and the best of the Rapids attack, conceding an average of only 6.34 runs per over from his nine appearances.

Mitchell is in 12th spot with an economy rate of 6.44 runs per over.
