DAY 1
On the first day at New Road Worcestershire slumped to 60 all out, their lowest ever first-class total against Warwickshire, who were 215-2 at stumps, a lead of 155 runs.
Worcestershire made two changes to the side that lost against Middlesex with Brett D'Oliveira and Nick Harrison, making his Championship debut, replacing Neil Pinner and Gareth Andrew.
Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bat first and in the 5th over Daryl Mitchell (2) was the first wicket to fall when he was trapped lbw off Chris Wright, with the score on 2, who then got Matt Pardoe (0) to edge behind to Richard Johnson, with the score on 12-2.
It soon became 12-3 when Phil Hughes (10) edged to Rikki Clarke at second slip off Keith Barker and it got even worse for Worcestershire as Moeen Ali (1) edged an outswinger from Barker to Johnson, Alexei Kervezee (4) edged to Clarke at second slip off Wright and when Joe Leach (0) was lbw to Barker the home side were in disarray at 21-6 after 14 overs.
A further 11 runs were added until the seventh wicket fell when Ben Cox (4) pulled straight to Ian Westwood at square leg off Wright and then on 46 two more wickets fell off Barker as D'Oliveira (18) edged to Varun Chopra at first slip and Harrison (0) was caught by Jim Troughton at mid-off. Then 14 runs were added until Chris Russell (15) was caught by Chopra at first slip off Wright, to leave Alan Richardson unbeaten on 6, and Worcestershire were all out before lunch for a paltry 60, their lowest first-class total in 41 years, off 28.4 overs, with Wright taking 5-24 off 14.4 overs and Barker ending up with 5-36 off 14 overs.
Warwickshire began their reply after lunch and Chopra and Westwood took the visitors past Worcestershire's total in the 18th over. Chopra had a life on 44 when he was dropped by Mitchell at second slip off Russell but he went to his 50 before tea off 65 balls, with 10 fours, as Warwickshire went to tea on 114-0 off 35 overs, a lead of 54 runs.
After tea Westwood reached his 50 off 112 balls, with 7 fours, before he was out top-edging a sweep off Ali to Mitchell at slip for 54 off 128 balls, with 7 fours, to end an opening wicket partnership of 136. William Porterfield departed for 0 when he edged Ali (2-43 off 17 overs) to Mitchell at slip, with the score on 148-2 in the 46th over, but Chopra was not to be denied his century, which came off 181 balls, with 16 fours, as Warwickshire ended the day on 215-2 off 67 overs, with Chopra unbeaten on 115 and Troughton unbeaten on 29.

DAY 2
Worcestershire ended the second day at New Road on 100-2 in their second innings and trail Warwickshire by 311 runs.
Warwickshire began the day on 215-2 and the third wicket partnership between Varun Chopra and Jim Troughton reached 100 in the 13th over of the day. Troughton got to his 50 off 111 balls, with 4 fours, before Chopra reached his 150 off 273 balls, with 23 fours, but eventually their partnership was to end on 131 when Troughton was caught behind by Ben Cox off Chris Russell for 54 off 119 balls, with 4 fours, with the score on 279-3 in the 90th over. Richard Johnson scored 1 before he was caught behind by Cox off Nick Harrison (1-62 off 15 overs), his first Championship wicket, as the visitors went to lunch on 320-4 off 102 overs, a lead of 260 runs.
In the second over after lunch Rikki Clarke was trapped lbw off Joe Leach for 11 but then Ian Blackwell wasted no time by bludgeoning the Worcestershire attack, with Moeen Ali (2-100 off 28 overs) being hit with 2 fours and 1 six in one over. Chopra's innings ended on 195 off 358 balls, with 27 fours, when he was bowled by Leach (2-49 off 16 overs), with the score on 380-6 in the 115th over, but Blackwell and Keith Barker then added a further 80 runs for the sixth wicket inside 13 overs, as Barker hit 2 sixes and 1 four off a Brett D'Oliveira over, until Blackwell went for a big hit and was caught by Cox off Russell (2-92 off 22 overs) for 84 off 81 balls, with 11 fours and 2 sixes. Barker was bowled by Alan Richardson (1-73 off 32 overs) for 40 off 36 balls, with 3 fours and 2 sixes, as Warwickshire eventually declared on 471-8 off 129 overs.
Worcestershire's second innings began after tea, with a deficit of 411 runs, and in the second over they were 0-1 as Phil Hughes edged to William Porterfield at third slip off Barker for 0. Daryl Mitchell and Matt Pardoe put on 76 for the second wicket before Pardoe played a cut shot straight to Ian Westwood at backward point off Clarke for 35 and then Mitchell (42*) and Ali (15*) saw out the remaining overs as the home side ended the second day on 100-2 off 35 overs, trailing by 311 runs.

DAY 3
Worcestershire were comprehensively beaten by an innings and 202 runs against Warwickshire, who secured the LV= County Championship title, just after lunch on the third day at New Road.
Worcestershire resumed on 100-2, trailing by 311 runs, and in the third over of the day Daryl Mitchell was bowled for 42 when he tried to block out a Keith Barker yorker but in doing so the ball went on to hit the stumps. 6 overs later Alexei Kervezee was trapped lbw off Barker for 19 and when Joe Leach was bowled by Chris Wright for 2 Worcestershire were 141-5 in the 47th over.
37 runs were added for the sixth wicket, with Moeen Ali reaching his 50 off 84 balls, with 9 fours, until Brett D'Oliveira edged to Varun Chopra at first slip off Rankin for 13 and Rankin soon collected his second wicket when Ben Cox edged to Rikki Clarke at second slip for 4, with the score on 192-7 in the 64th over.
At lunch the home side had reached 196-7 off 65 overs but after lunch Wright clean bowled Chris Russell (0), Nick Harrison (2) and Alan Richardson (4) as Worcestershire were all out for 209 in 70.5 overs, with Ali unbeaten on 72 off 117 balls, with 11 fours, just after 1:35pm to secure the LV= County Championship title for Warwickshire and leave Worcestershire on the brink of relegation into Division Two.
