Worcs Back In Action Tomorrow Against Gloucs At New Road

Worcs Back In Action Tomorrow Against Gloucs At New Road

Worcestershire will be back in action at New Road tomorrow on the opening day of a two-day match against Gloucestershire.

All-rounder Gareth Andrew and spinner Shaaiq Choudhry are poised to be included in the side for the friendly fixture.

The duo are not part of the 11 players taking on Gloucestershire today at New Road in a 50 over fixture.

Andrew is back to full fitness after his lengthy lay-off with a lumbar pedicle fracture in his back and impressed bowling coach Matt Mason during the pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi.

Choudhry is one of the spin options available to Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes given the likely absence of Moeen Ali for much of the summer because of England commitments.

Worcestershire will also play away fixtures against Warwickshire (two days), Oxford MCCU (three days) and Northamptonshire (two days) as part of their build-up to the new campaign.
