Worcestershire batsman Tom Fell has successfully completed the first leg of a possible survival double.
His weekend club side Wolverhampton clung onto their Premier Division status in the Birmingham and District League Premier Division despite losing on the final day of the season.
Fell's side went down by 11 runs in their last match of 2015 to Barnt Green and they could have gone down had either Brockhampton or Dorridge won.
But Brockhampton lost to West Bromwich Dartmouth and Dorridge were beaten by Ombersley to leave Wolverhampton third from bottom.
They ended on 174 points with Brockhampton (169) and Dorridge (168) going down.
Academy spinner Ben Twohig and paceman Chris Russell were also part of the Wolverhampton side.
Fell will now hope to complate the second leg of that double by helping Worcestershire to stay in Division One of the LV = County Championship – starting with tomorrow's match away to Durham.
He is Worcestershire's leading run-scorer in LV = CC cricket this summer with more than 800 to his credit and still has a chance of reaching the 1,000 mark which was one of his pre-season aims.
Fell also scored 421 runs for Wolverhampton in 13 innings at an average of 35.08.
