Worcs Ccc Sad To Report Death Of Patron, The Duke Of Westminster

Worcestershire CCC are sad to report the death of former club president and patron, His Grace the Duke Of Westminster, Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor OBE, TD, DL.

The Duke, who was president at New Road in 1984 and 1985, passed away at the age of 64 at the Royal Preston Hospital in Lancashire on Tuesday.

Worcestershire chief executive Tom Scott said: "I would like to express my heartfelt condolences on the death of one of our Patron’s, His Grace the Duke of Westminster.

"The Duke was a former president of the cricket club from 1984-1985 and also became a patron of the club.

"On behalf of Worcestershire County Cricket Club, we pass on our condolences to his family at this sad time and our thoughts are with them."

His Grace became the sixth Duke of Westminster in 1979.
