Four members of the Worcestershire CCC development programme have been selected in the Midlands Bunbury squad.
The quartet will be part of the 30th Bunbury ESCA Under-15s Cricket Festival which is being hosted by Malvern College from July 27 to 31.
But it also includes a day of T20 cricket at New Road on Wednesday, July 29.
The four players are Jack Haynes, youngest son of former Worcestershire all-rounder Gavin Haynes, Musharraf Shahzad, who is a cousin of Moeen Ali, wicket-keeper Ewan Wilcox and pace bowler Ryan Wheldon.
Haynes, 14, has created a favourable impression this summer with several fine performances and a mountain of runs.
Worcestershire Academy coach Elliot Wilson said: "Jack is in his first year at Malvern College and he is having a very impressive 2015 with the bat.
"He is on the fringe of the Academy, works on the skills set programme with all of the batters, and he has just gone from strength to strength.
"He had quite a challenging winter as a lot of the young lads did. We put them in some challenging enviroments and he has come out of that and really kicked on with a very impressive first half of the summer.
"Very impressive performances within that which have resulted in selection for the Midlands Bunbury squad which has just been announced.
"His mother said to him the other day 'Jack you must be somewhere near 1,000 runs for the summer' and he said 'are you joking, I'm on about 1,600.'
"He got a very impressive 80 in an inter-squad game at the start of the year between the Academy and the second team at Kidderminster.
"He has got his first hundred for the first team at Malvern College and he's also played Under-17 county cricket for us this year as an Under-14 and scored 100 against Northamptonshire. I don't think Under-14 has ever scored a 100 in Under-17 county cricket up until now.
"The other weekend in a friendly for the Worcestershire Under-15 side against the touring New South Wales side he made 188. He plays for Ombersley and has just made his debut for the first team in the Birmingham Premier League.
"Depending on availability, he is one of the guys on the fringes of the enviroment and will have a good chance of playing regularly Under-17s, Under-19s and the Academy side."
Wlson added: "Four lads from our programmes have been selected in the Midlands Bunbury squad – Jack Haynes, Musharraf Shahzad who is the cousin of Moeen Ali, Ewan Wilcox who is part of our wicket-keeping skills set and been working with Steve Rhodes, and Ryan Wheldon who is a fast bowling all-rounder from Shropshire who has been with us for the last month and will join us for the winter. He plays club cricket for Kidderminster.
"Getting selected for the Bunburys is a bit of a long process it starts before Christmas and culminates in the 60 best young cricketers in the country come together for a week of cricket, this year being held at Malvern College and here."
