Worcs Star Moeen Again England’s Most Economical Bowler In T20I Series

Worcs Star Moeen Again England’s Most Economical Bowler In T20I Series

Moeen Ali was once again England's most economical bowler in the T20I Series with India which finished yesterday.

The Worcestershire all-rounder bowled superbly in the context of the big-hitting short format of the game in conceding only 5.91 runs per over.

He gave away almost two runs an over less than England's next economical bowler in Tymal Mills (7.83).

Moeen returned figures of 2-21, 1-20 and 0-30 in the three match series and ended with overall figures of 12-0-71-3.

It followed on from him being England's most frugal bowler in the run-laced ODI series with India last month.

The 29-year-old did not pick up a wicket in that series but conceded just 6.04 runs per over with figures of 20.1-0-122-0.

On the batting front, Moeen faced only five balls in the T20 series in two innings, scoring three runs and being dismissed once as part of yesterday's spectacular collapse in Bangalore.

Moeen will now take a short break from international action, having pulled out of playing in the Pakistan Super League T20 competition for Quetta Gladiators to link up with members of his family on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

But he will soon be back wearing the England colours in next month's three match ODI Series against the West Indies in the Caribbean.
