Worcs Trio Get Call-Up For ‘best Of The Bunburys’ Three-Day Match

Three Worcestershire CCC Academy-Pathway players have been selected for the 'Best of The Bunburys" match taking place at Loughborough over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Batsman Jack Haynes, all-rounder Xavier Clarke and paceman Matt Davis have been rewarded for their performances in the main Under-15s Bunbury Festival last month at Radley College when representing the Midlands.

The Festival showcases the skills of 56 of the most talented England Under-15 players in the country.

Now a combined Midlands and North side will play against a combined London-South East and South West side at the National Performance Centre.

The three-day match will get underway tomorrow (Sunday).

Haynes captained the Bunburys 12 months ago as an Under-14 player and earned a second call-up for this summer's festival when the Midlands won the T20 competition.

He plays club cricket for Ombersley and is a member of the County's 2015-2016 Academy intake.

Leg-spinner-top order batsman Clarke (Oswestry CC) – brother of Joe Clarke – is part of the satellite academy in Shropshire under the guidance of former Worcestershire paceman Paul Pridgeon.

Davis (Old Elizabethans CC) is part of the senior development of excellence programme which sits just underneath the academy programme.
