Worcestershire won the toss and elected to field first, in the three-day friendly match at Taunton Vale, and bowled Somerset out for 120 off 64.2 overs.
The wickets were taken by Graeme Cessford (4-21 off 15.2 overs), Joe Leach (3-36 off 14 overs), Jack Shantry (2-17 off 19 overs) and Richard Jones (1-22 off 14 overs).
In reply Worcestershire closed the day on 115-6 off 39 overs, trailing by 5 runs, with Joe Leach scoring 42 and Ben Cox with 26.
Worcestershire were all out in their first innings for 181 off 65.4 overs, with Brett D'Oliveira top-scoring with 54 off 127 balls, with 8 fours.
Trailing by 61 runs Somerset at one stage were 38-4, with Richard Jones taking all four wickets, but the home side recovered thanks to Arul Suppiah, who scored 119 off 119 balls, with 15 fours and 2 sixes, and Cameron Steel, unbeaten on 62 off 205 balls, with 11 fours, as they ended the day on 243-5 off 75 overs, leading Worcestershire by 182 runs.
The wicket-takers for Worcestershire are Jones (4-40 off 17 overs) and Graeme Cessford (1-66 off 16 overs).
On the final day Somerset batted on throughout the morning session and eventually declared on 335-9 off 106 overs, with Cameron Steel unbeaten on 100 off 290 balls, with 13 fours, with good support from Will Jenkins, who scored 56.
Richard Jones couldn't add to his four wicket tally from the second day but still ended up as the leading wicket-taker for Worcestershire, with 4-60 off 23 overs, with the other wickets taken by Jack Shantry (3-54 off 20 overs), Shaaiq Choudhry (1-41 off 17 overs) and Graeme Cessford (1-84 off 23 overs).
After lunch Worcestershire required 275 runs to win off a minimum of 65 overs but in the end they opted for a more cautious approach as they reached 171-5 off 58 overs when the two teams shook hands and the match was drawn. Only Ben Cox (45) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (34) scored over 30 runs for Worcestershire.
