Worcestershire CCC is pleased to announce that both Moeen Ali and Gareth Andrew have agreed terms for extensions to their current contracts with the Club.
Ali has committed to a further five years on top of his current deal, whilst Andrew has signed up for an additional two years.
The all-rounders have impressed with both bat and ball in the early stages of the season, and hope to continue this form.
Ali moved to Worcestershire CCC for the 2007 season, and has gone on to become one of the first names on the teamsheet. During his career, he has scored eight First Class centuries. Ali has also proven his credentials with the ball, including three five-wicket hauls. He took 12 wickets for 96 runs in the LV= County Championship match against Lancashire CCC at Old Trafford last season.
Ali said, "When I first joined the Club many people told me what a fantastic place New Road is to play and they are right, so I am delighted to commit my long term future to the Club."
"The future for Worcestershire looks good and being a part of it excites me. I look forward to helping the Club progress back to Division One and win some trophies."
Since debuting for the Club in 2008, Andrew has become a proven match winner. During this time, his medium-fast bowling has claimed 148 First Class wickets for the County, and the all-rounders' aggressive style of batting has lit up New Road on many occasions.
Andrew said, "I'm really happy to extend my stay here at Worcester, and am looking forward to the next two years. Hopefully, I'll play an integral part in helping the Club progress during what is an exciting time, both on and off the pitch."
Steve Rhodes, Director of Cricket, said, "We're absolutely delighted that both Gareth and Moeen have agreed to the new deals. They are game changing all-rounders, and the manner in which they bat and bowl will be an important factor going forward.
"As our number one spinner, number three batsman and One-Day opener, Moeen is probably one of the most important players in the staff, so put together they (Ali and Andrew) are two of our key all-rounders.
"We're also proud that we are now seeing the benefits of our hard work. We put a lot of efforts in to developing these players, and it's wonderful to secure their futures at the Club."
