Worcestershire CCC can confirm that 30 year-old fast bowler Graeme Cessford has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at New Road until the end of the 2014 season.
Cessford made his First Class debut for Worcestershire CCC against Oxford MCCU at The Parks in May after joining the County as part of the Royal Air Force's Elite Athlete Programme in November. Since debuting, the right-armer has collected 17 wickets in six First Class appearances including 4-73 at New Road against Lancashire in August.
In the limited-over format, Cessford has featured in four List A matches this Summer. In Yorkshire Bank 40 action his best return of 4-24 came in the County's 140 run victory over local rivals Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Director of Cricket, Steve Rhodes, commented "We are obviously pleased that Graeme has agreed to extend his stay at Worcestershire. The minor surgery he has recently undertaken will have a positive effect on his performances. We must also say thanks to the RAF for allowing Graeme to pursue his cricketing ambitions with the County."
Cessford commented "I'm delighted to be able to represent Worcestershire for a further year and would like to thank the RAF for their continued support. I hope to use the winter months to get fitter and quicker in preparation for the 2014 season."
