ANOTHER HALF CENTURY FOR RAPIDS SIGNING TURNER

ANOTHER HALF CENTURY FOR RAPIDS SIGNING TURNER

Ashton Turner was again amongst the runs for Fremantle although he ended on the losing side in a Western Australia Cricket Association first grade match with Joondalup.

Worcestershire Rapids 2020 Vitality Blast overseas signing followed up his 72 against Subiaco Floreat by making a rapid 67 on the final day of the two-day fixture.

Turner came in at number three and raced to 67 off 57 deliveries with five sixes and four fours.

The 27-year-old, who is available for the Rapids entire Blast campaign, put on 116 for the second wicket with Jake Carder (71).

Fremantle, who were edged out for first innings points, went for quick runs in their second innings to set up a declaration in the hope of pulling off an outright win.

They eventually pulled out at 185-3 from just 32 overs to set their opponents a 183 target.

Joondalup were in early trouble at 0-2 but a superb 107 off only 57 balls from captain Jaron Morgan saw his side to a four wicket success at 183-6 in 35 overs.
