Barnard Helps England Under-19S To Take 4-0 Lead Against South Africa

Worcestershire all-rounder Ed Barnard helped England Under-19s open up a 4-0 lead in the One-Day Series with South Africa Under-19s.

England triumphed by six wickets at Grace Road after putting the tourists into bat and bowling them out for 186 in 48.2 overs.

Barnard bowled six tidy overs for 20 runs and claimed the wicket of number four batsman Kabelo Sekhukhune for 22.

England reached their target with 5.1 overs to spare and Barnard was at the wicket for the finale of the game.

He finished 17 not out from 37 balls with three fours and shared in an unbroken stand of 32 with Aneurin Donald.

His county colleague, wicket-keeper Joe Clarke, did not play in the fourth ODI after being side-lined with a bout of food poisoning.

He had featured in the first three games of the series.

England will be looking to complete a whitewash in the final ODI at Derby on Friday – a game that is being shown live on Sky Sports.
