Big Hitting From Whiteley But Mixed Fortunes For Prospect Cc

Big Hitting From Whiteley But Mixed Fortunes For Prospect Cc

Ross Whiteley was in fine form with the bat for Prospect CC in two matches in the South Australia Cricket Association T20 Cup but his side enjoyed mixed fortunes.

The Worcestershire all-rounder was on the winning side in the away clash with Adelaide University after striking 55 off 32 balls with four sixes and five fours.

Whiteley, who batted at number three, top-scored as Prospect reached 153-4 in their 20 overs after winning the toss.

He then picked up two wickets for 22 runs as Adelaide were bowled out for 133 with two balls remaining.

Whiteley continued in the same vein in the home match with East Torrens but Prospect were beaten by 33 runs.

The visitors chose to bat first and amassed 200-4 in their 20 overs with Whiteley not part of the Prospect attack in this game.

He raced to 33 off 22 balls in reply with two sixes and two fours before being third out at 114 and his side closed on 167-8.

They now have to defeat visiting Woodville in their final match on January 13 to stand a chance of reaching the semi-finals.
