BROWN LOOKING TO RETURN “AS SOON AS POSSIBLE”

Pat Brown will channel all his energies into “getting back on the park as soon as possible” after injury ended his involvement in the Big Bash League and England’s white ball cricket later in the winter in South Africa.

The Worcestershire paceman suffered a lower back stress fracture while preparing to play for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash.

He had then been scheduled to link up with his country for the T20I and ODI Series against the Proteas but will now undergo a rehabilitation programme with the Worcestershire medical team.

Brown tweeted: “Gutted to be out of Big Bash and England’s white ball tour of South Africa with a stress fracture.

“Will be doing everything to get back on the park as soon as possible.”

Brown had been set to play eight group games for the Melbourne Stars who signed him up after another impressive Vitality Blast campaign for the Rapids.

He made a promising England debut when playing four T20Is in New Zealand during November before experiencing a spell in the T10 League.
