COUNTY’S UNSUNG HEROES HEADING FOR LORD’S AFTER BEING RECOGNISED AT OSCAS

some of worcestershire’s unsung cricket heroes are heading to lord’s after being recognised at the county’s 2019 oscas during a luncheon-ceremony in the view at New Road.

the winners in the various categories at the natwest outstanding service to cricket awards were honoured in recognition of their contributions to different facets of the game.

it is the unstinting efforts of volunteers – the lifeblood of the game behind the scenes – which help ensure club cricket continues to flourish throughout the county.

now these local winners will now go forward to the home of cricket and represent worcestershire in the national finals of the natwest oscas on monday, october 14..

worcestershire cricket board development director, tom hill, said: “we want to say thank you to the many hundreds of volunteers who devote their time across the county to cricket.

“without their contribution, cricket would simply not be played. whether this is groundsmen, tea ladies, committee members or the person who helps out coaching occasionally, they make the game what it is today.

“their collective efforts provide thousands of people across worcestershire with opportunities to experience and benefit from our beautiful game.”
