ENGLAND CAPTAIN PRAISES PERFORMANCES OF SARAH GLENN

England Women’s captain Heather Knight praised the performances of Worcestershire Women’s Rapids player Sarah Glenn during her debut international tour.

Glenn played in all six games and picked up 12 wickets as England defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the ODI Series – with one game abandoned – and 3-0 in the T20Is in Kuala Lumpur.

Knight admitted that Glenn, rather than herself, should have been the ODI Player Of The Series for her eight wickets at 11.62 runs apiece.

Glenn returned figures of 2-38, 2-37 and 4-18 and followed that up with 1-25, 1-17 and 2-12 in the T20Is.

It was a dream tour for Glenn and a boost to her hopes of being selected for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia during February-March 2020.

Knight said: “Sarah Glenn deserves a special mention. She has been outstanding for us on her debut tour.

“She has been very consistent and taken wickets throughout the ODI and T20 Series so very pleased for her.

“She definitely deserved to be Player Of The Series in the ODIs.”

Before the World Cup, England have four warm-up matches against Australia and India – two in Canberra and two in Melbourne – in late January-early February.
