Joe Leach has revealed his satisfaction at helping North Canberra Gungahlin win their first trophy in a decade.
And the Worcestershire all-rounder can see comparisions with the dressing room in terms of the Northies being "a lot of young lads looking to pull in the same direction."
Leach was part of the side which overcame Queanbeyan District – including county colleague Ed Barnard – in the final of the Australian Capital Territory Konica Cup T20 competition.
Ironically, Leach experienced a rare failure in the final, being dismissed for a duck, but he has made sizeable contributions with bat and ball for the Northies.
He said: "It was a great win on Sunday in the final. The club haven't won anything for something like 10 years so it was pleasing to make a contribution to them doing so.
"It's not dissimilar to New Road in the sense that there are a lot of young lads looking to pull in the same direction."
Leach is second in the ACT bowling averages and sixth in the batting with 18 wickets and 292 runs respectively.
He is looking to maintain his form in the New Year as the countdown gets underway in earnest towards the 2015 campaign with Worcestershire.
He said: "In terms of my own form it's been pleasing to start well.
"I just want to make sure this carries on in the New Year as we build towards the county season."
Leach and Barnard will go head to head again this weekend in a two-day ACT first grade clash being hosted by Queanbeyan tomorrow and Sunday.
