Moeen And England Prepare For Return Encounter With Aussies

Moeen And England Prepare For Return Encounter With Aussies

Moeen Ali and England will be looking to build on their crushing victory over India when they take on Australia for a second time in the Tri-Series in Hobart tomorrow.

England are lying in second spot in the group after the nine wicket success over India in Brisbane on Tuesday from which they secured a bonus point.

Australia defeated England by three wickets in the first contest between the two countries and will be without three of their batsmen from that contest tomorrow.

Stand-in skipper George Bailey is suspended because of his side's slow over rate against India while David Warner and Shane Watson are not risking tight hamstrings.

Former Worcestershire T20 player Steve Smith will captain Australia in an ODI for the first time after leading his country to victory in the recent Test series against India with four hundreds in four Tests.

Shaun Marsh, Cameron White – in his first ODI for four years – and Moises Henriques are expected to return to the Australian side.

Paceman Mitchell Starc has taken 10 wickets in the opening two games of the series and was voted man of the match against England.

Worcestershire all-rounder Moeen returned 1-31 from nine overs and made eight with the bat in the win over India.
