MOEEN SHINES WITH BAT AND BALL IN ENGLAND INTRA-SQUAD FIXTURE

Moeen Ali was in form with bat and ball when skippering ‘Team Ali’ versus ‘Team Morgan’ in England’s white ball intra-squad match at the Ageas Bowl as part of their preparations for the Royal London ODI Series versus Ireland.

The Worcestershire CCC, who has been made official vice-captain for the three game series, hit 85 off just 45 balls and picked up three wickets.

Moeen struck six sixes and seven fours and his efforts helped his side to total 325-9 in their 40 overs on their way to a 100 run success.

The 33-year-old came to the wicket at 128-4 and quickly pressed the accelerator button to help ‘Team Ali’ to their challenging total.

He eventually became one of four players dismissed by fellow spinner Adil Rashid (4-65) when he was caught by Liam Dawson.

In reply, Ben Duckett top-scored with 68 for ‘Team Morgan’ before he fell to Moeen who also dismissed Tom Banton (3) and Rashid (30).

Moeen finished with figures of 3-40 from 6.3 overs as ‘Team Morgan’ were bowled out for 225 in 32.3 overs.
