Abbott Set For Championship Debut For Worcs In Return Clash With Leics

Kyle Abbott is poised to make his Specsavers County Championship debut for Worcestershire in the home clash with Leicestershire starting tomorrow (11am).

The South African paceman picked up 36 wickets in nine Championship appearances for Hampshire in 2014 in helping them to promotion.

Worcestershire will be hoping Abbott has the same positive effect during the second half of the current campaign.

Tom Fell is again included in the squad following on from the success of the #YELL4FELL evening at New Road on Friday.

He was also part of the squad for the previous Championship clash away to Derbyshire although he did not make the final eleven.

Charlie Morris is also named after showing encouraging signs with the ball for the Seconds in recent games with his remodelled action.

Skipper Daryl Mitchell has warned against a Leicestershire backlash after being bowled out for 43 when Worcestershire triumphed at the Fischer County Ground earlier in the season.

He said: "Leicestershire have done well this season but we beat them at Grace Road and I am sure they will be coming down here looking for revenge.

"When you bowl a team out for 43 you are always going to win but I'm sure this will be a very competitive affair."
