ACADEMY IN GRAHAM WILLIAMSON TROPHY QUARTER-FINAL ACTION AT WALSALL

Worcestershire CCC Academy will be in quarter-final action in the Birmingham Premier League Graham Williamson Trophy when they travel to Walsall CC tomorrow (Sunday).

Academy Coach Elliot Wilson has named a 12-man squad for the fixture at Walsall’s Gorway headquarters.

Walsall are currently lying in 10th spot in Premier Division One.

The Academy reached this stage of the competition in the most dramatic of circumstances, defeating home side Shrewsbury in a bowl-out after the game had ended in a tie.

Ollie Westbury top-scored with 59 for Worcestershire with Jacques Banton (3-26) and Zain Ul-Hassan the main wicket-takers.

The game will get underway at 12.30pm and consists of 40 overs per side.

The other quarter-final ties are 1) Shifnal v Kenilworth Wardens, 2) Barnt Green v Knowle and Dorridge and 3) Dorridge v Warwickshire Academy.
