Academy Pathway Player Baker Amongst Wickets At Bunburys

Four Worcestershire CCC Academy pathway programme players have been experiencing mixed results representing the Midlands in the 32nd English Schools Cricket Association Under-15s Bunburys Festival at Millfield School.

Josh Baker, Rehan Edavaleth, Henry Cullen and Joe Miszkowski have all been part of the squad doing battle against London-East, North and South-West.

On Day One, Miszkowski (16), Henry Cullen (19) and Josh Baker (2 not out) were included in the side which posted a total of 221 all out in 49 overs after being put into bat by the South West.

Baker than removed both South West openers and finished with figures of 10-0-42-2 as the Midlands triumphed by 17 runs, bowling out their opponents for 204 in 49.5 overs.

On Day Two, Edavaleth (10) came into the Midlands side as opener alongside Miszkowski (11), Cullen (6) and Baker (1) and they were bowled out for 204 in 49.5 overs after electing to bat against London-East.

Edavaleth claimed the only wicket to fall, dismissing Atharva Prasad for 89 after an opening stand of 181 with George Roberts (78 not out) as London-East reached 205-1 in 41 overs.

Today (Day Three) the action reverted to T20 and the Midlands went down in the semi-final by six wickets to London-East.

Miszkowski, batting at number four, was run out for 20 off 29 balls as Midlands totalled 134-5 with the other three Worcestershire players not required to bat.

Baker again picked up two wickets and finished with the excellent figures of 4-0-12-2 but London-East reached 137-4 in 17 overs. Miszkowski bowled two overs for 17 overs.

Of the Worcestershire quartet, Cullen is a full member of the Academy and the other three are part of the Worcestershire pathway.
