Worcestershire CCC Academy X1 will visit Malvern College for a 40 over match which gets underway tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1.30pm.
County spinner Ben Twohig -a former College pupil – and full Academy member, paceman Matt Davis, are part of the Academy side along with several of their promising pathway players.
The County have strong links with Malvern College – which continues to be their winter base – and the fixture was reintroduced into the schedule last summer.
The likes of Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Twohig, Zen Malik and Alex Milton are all former Malvern pupils who became part of the Worcestershire CCC programme.
Academy coach Elliot Wilson said: "We have this really exciting partnership with Malvern College that helps us to develop players.
"Pupils at the school can work in our programme, and we use the facilities, and the likes of Zen Malik, Ben Twohig, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Alex Milton – to mention just a few – are the products of this relationship.
"We are looking forward to finding out who the next one is going to be tomorrow.
"We reintroduced this fixture last year between myself and Mark Hardinges, the master in charge of cricket at Malvern College.
"We've only got Matt Davis from the full Academy playing but we've got a number of our promising cricketers playing in the game and it's a great opportunity for those guys to get a high quality game of cricket.
"A lot of those guys playing tomorrow are from State school backgrounds and, as such, don't get to play as much cricket as some of the guys who attend the private schools.
"So for them to get this game of cricket, just before the exam season starts, is a good game of cricket for them.
"The likes of Henry Cullen, who was spoken about by the Worcs CCC president (Norman Gifford) at the club AGM, Charlie Greening and Ed Bragg are playing."
