Saaed Ajmal has confirmed he is to undergo another informal test on his remodelled bowling action in England.
The spinner, who played for Worcestershire last season, is confident he will this time "get positive results" and that his current action is within the 15 degree limit allowed by the International Cricket Council.
It is good news for Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes who has constantly supported Ajmal and indicated he wants to resign him for the 2015 season if his new action is approved.
Ajmal has been banned from international cricket since his action was reported during the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Test in Galle in August.
The 37-year-old, who took 63 wickets in nine LV = County Championship appearances for Worcestershire last season, has already undergone two informal tests at the ICC biomechanics centre at Loughborough.
Ajmal said: ""I will be going for the informal test later this month and it will not be to the bowling centre in Chennai. I prefer to take the test in England.
"When I took the informal test last time there was improvement in my bowling action and, having worked further on it, I am confident this time I will get positive results and all my deliveries should be within the 15 degrees limit allowed by ICC to bowlers for straightening their arm."
Ajmal also believes he will remain a potent force with his new action.
He said: "I have worked on several new deliveries and trajectories in my new action and they are all wicket taking deliveries.
"Obviously after modifying my action I have accordingly worked on perfecting other deliveries so it is not that I am just dependent on the 'doosra' now which has caused my action the most problem.
"So I am not worried about my ability to be as effective as before. Right now my concern is my modified action is within the ICC limit."
