Australian And Caribbean Incentive For Clarke And Co

Australian And Caribbean Incentive For Clarke And Co

Joe Clarke and other Worcestershire players with England Lions aspirations could be heading to Australia and the Caribbean this winter.

The Lions are close to finalising a training camp Down Under in November and December which will run alongside the Ashes series.

And it has been confirmed that the Lions will tour the West Indies in early 2018 with the itinerary including three four-day and three one-day matches.

Clarke regained his place in the Lions squad for the recent three-day match against South Africa at New Road although he was deprived the chance of a bat in a game affected by the weather.

He has been part of the Lions set-up for the past 20 months.

But there are other players at New Road who are also fiercely ambitious when it comes to wanting to represent their country.

The Lions will return to the Caribbean for the first time since 2011.

They will split their time between Jamaica, where they will play the first two four-day games against West Indies A, and Antigua, where they will complete the tour.
