Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes's was frustrated by the complete wash-out of the second day of the LV = County Championship match with Durham at the ICG Emirates.
Play was called off in mid afternoon with Worcestershire not having the chance to add to their overnight total of 223-4 from 83 overs.
Rhodes told BBC Hereford-Worcester's Dave Bradley: "Really frustrating to be honest. We had quite a lot of rain to be fair to people but this is a Test ground and I can imagine if this was a Test match, there would be a lot of disappointed people in the ground today.
"It is very sad but I don't think the mop-up operation has gone as well as it could have done.
"Could we have been playing cricket at 4pm? If there had been a better mop-up operation, I feel we could have been.
"I don't blame the umpires for calling it off but, like I said, if I had been a paying customer in a Test match, I would have been disappointed.
"We want to win a game of cricket and time in this match is reducing and there is potentially more rain so we desperately need to get out there and play."
Rhodes also gave his reaction yesterday to Dave Bradley on day one and the bizarre run-out of Tom Fell after a mix-up with his flat-mate Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
Question: What was your reaction to the opening day day?
Steve Rhodes: "The first session was really good cricket for the purist. I was right behind the bowler's arm and there was some good bowling and batting.
"Brett D'Oliveira and Daryl Mitchell applied themselves beautifully and the stand was great. "I was just surprised to see Dolly get out because he looked in good touch and was starting to score freely.
"I thought he was well on the way to getting the substantial score which is what he is desperate to get.
"There was some good bowling there as well and thankfully the partnership between the two Toms (Fell and Kohler-Cadmore) was a wonderful partnership (85) for us, put us in a good position.
"But there was a sad run out and a bit of a farcical run-out to end that partnership."
Question: You don't see that very often in first class cricket?
Steve Rhodes: "I've never seen it before and I've watched many games of cricket.
"For five minutes I was livid and then you look back and think absolutely hilarious really when you look at it all.
"Thankfully Ross (Whiteley) and Pepsi managed to get a few runs quite quickly and get momentum going again.
"I was worried about it being a momentum switch in the game and Durham coming back into it.
"But Ross and Pepsi really played nicely towards the end. These things happen but I've never seen it happen before.
"You wouldn't believe they share a house together and are with each other 24-7 with communication like that!"
Question: It seems pretty slow for a Durham pitch?
Steve Rhodes: "I don't think it has done a great deal really. It's done a little bit but certainly at Durham you expect the wicket to do a lot more.
"Let's see when we bowl. It is strange to work pitches out sometimes without seeing the opposition bowl.
"So let's hold fire on that one and make a judgement when we bowl."
