Worcestershire duo Joe Clarke and Joe Leach are figuring prominently in the national batting and bowling averages in first class matches this summer.
Wicket-keeper-batsman Clarke has surpassed 1,000 runs with the aid of five centuries – and a 98 – and Leach has topped the 50 wicket mark with four five wicket hauls.
Twenty-year-old Clarke has to date scored 1,061 runs at an average of 46.13 in his first full season of senior cricket.
The leading run-getter in the country is Essex's Tom Westley with 1,423 which includes his 254 against Worcestershire at Chelmsford last week.
Another ex Worcestershire keeper in Surrey's Steve Davies has enjoyed a good season with the bat, amassing 1,086 runs at 43.44.
Leach is the fourth highest wicket-taker in the country with 55 first class victims.
Only Essex's Graham Napier, who is retiring at the end of the season, and the Warwickshire duo of Chris Woakes and Jeetan Patel are ahead of the 25-year-old.
Ex Worcestershire spinner Gareth Batty has weighed in with 40 wickets for Surrey.
