Joe Clarke was dismissed cheaply but then took two catches as England Lions fought back with the ball in the second one-day international against the United Arab Emirates in Dubai to win by 100 runs.
The Worcestershire batsman, who is in his third spell with the Lions, came to the wicket in his accustomed number four position.
Clarke got off the mark with a boundary but it was his only scoring shot before he was caught behind off Qadeer Ahmed, a 31-year-old right arm medium pacer.
Twenty-year-old Clarke was third out at 68 in the 15th over after the home side had won the toss and put the Lions into bat.
The Lions, who won the opening fixture in the three match series by eight wickets, slumped to 90-6 at one stage despite 44 from Tom Alsop.
But useful runs from the lower order trio of Tom Curran (40) James Fuller (35) and Craig Overton (23) helped their side to post a more challenging total.
The Lions were eventually bowled out for 190 in 47.3 overs.
UAE reached 63-1 in reply but then nose-dived to 90 all out as their last nine wickets fell for 27 runs.
Tom Curran and Jack Leach combined to spark a spectacular UAE collapse. Curran took five for 16 and Leach ended with three for seven from 6.2 overs.
Clarke claimed catches to dismiss Shaiman Anwar (5) and Rameez Shahzad (0).
